The MinÂistry of EdÂuÂcaÂtion says it is aware of reÂports of a rat inÂfesÂtaÂtion at El SoÂcorÂro South GovÂernÂment PriÂmaÂry School and is enÂgagÂing staff and the NaÂtionÂal MainÂteÂnance TrainÂing and SeÂcuÂriÂty ComÂpaÂny LimÂitÂed to asÂsess the sitÂuÂaÂtion.
The minÂistry reÂspondÂed afÂter parÂents raised the isÂsue durÂing a small protest outÂside the school’s Lootoo Street comÂpound.
Four parÂents said they have reÂportÂed the probÂlem to the school suÂperÂviÂsor and the edÂuÂcaÂtion disÂtrict ofÂfice since OcÂtoÂber last year. They pointÂed to an empÂty, overÂgrown lot next to the school, which they beÂlieve is the source of the inÂfesÂtaÂtion.
