Trinidad and ToĀbaĀgo has fallĀen 13 places in the 2026 World Press FreeĀdom InĀdex reĀleased toĀday by ReĀporters WithĀout BorĀders, deĀspite mainĀtainĀing what the reĀport deĀscribes as a āgood recordā and a āviĀbrant meĀdia landĀscape.ā
The counĀtry is now ranked 32nd out of 180 counĀtries, down from 19th in 2025. Its overĀall score alĀso deĀclined from 79.71 to 74.70, reĀflectĀing weakĀer perĀforĀmance across all five inĀdiĀcaĀtors.
