More than 120 cubs and scouts from across the South CenÂtral DisÂtrict took part in the first anÂnuÂal disÂtrict camp over the weekÂend, as the scout moveÂment conÂtinÂues to inÂstil in young peoÂple life skills, disÂciÂpline and teamÂwork.
DisÂtrict Scout ComÂmisÂsionÂer and deputy camp chief for Camp Pointe-a-Pierre, CurÂtis DinÂdiÂal, said the proÂgramme was deÂsigned to keep youths meanÂingÂfulÂly enÂgaged while helpÂing them deÂvelÂop lifeÂlong skills and reÂlaÂtionÂships.
“It is the goal and viÂsion of scoutÂing for young peoÂple and toÂday at the South CenÂtral disÂtrict, our plan of acÂtion is to enÂgage our scouts meanÂingÂfulÂly, where they will gain lifeÂlong reÂlaÂtionÂships and have fun. Whilst they are learnÂing skills, they will be acÂcomÂplishÂing badges over this peÂriÂod of time and most imÂporÂtantÂly, they will deÂvelÂop friendÂships by inÂterÂactÂing with varÂiÂous scoutÂing groups,” DinÂdiÂal said durÂing the camp at the Petrotrin Sports Club.
