Man granted bail under Home Invasion Act

A man charged un­der the new Home In­va­sion Act has been grant­ed bail in the sum of $200,000 with strict con­di­tions af­ter ap­pear­ing be­fore the High Court Crim­i­nal Di­vi­sion in south Trinidad.

Shawn Cum­mings, 37, of Sixth Com­pa­ny Cir­cu­lar Road, In­di­an Walk, faces charges of wound­ing with in­tent and home in­va­sion aris­ing out of an al­leged cut­lass at­tack on An­drew Tees­dale on April 5.

The mat­ter was heard yes­ter­day be­fore Mas­ter Gray. Pros­e­cu­tor Amit Jag­ger­nauth ap­peared for the State, while Cum­mings was rep­re­sent­ed by at­tor­neys Ja­son Jack­son and Krysan Ram­bert. Ram­bert made the bail ap­pli­ca­tion on be­half of the ac­cused.
