ForÂmer health minÂisÂter TerÂrence DeyalsÂingh has warned of a camÂpaign of âpurgesâ withÂin the pubÂlic serÂvice, folÂlowÂing reÂports that Chief MedÂical OfÂfiÂcer (CMO) Dr Roshan ParasÂram was sent on leave unÂder conÂtroÂverÂsial cirÂcumÂstances.
Health MinÂisÂter Dr LackÂram BoÂdoe has deÂnied that Dr ParasÂram was forced out, telling reÂporters the CMO had apÂplied for his leave, which was apÂproved in the usuÂal manÂner.
âMy inÂforÂmaÂtion is that the Chief MedÂical OfÂfiÂcer Dr Roshan ParasÂram had acÂcuÂmuÂlatÂed a cerÂtain amount of leave, and he had apÂplied for the leave, and the norÂmal processâthe leave was grantÂed,â BoÂdoe said.
