OpĀpoĀsiĀtion Leader PenĀneĀlope BeckĀles has strongĀly critĀiĀcised the stateĀment made by Prime MinĀisĀter KamĀla PerĀsad-BissesĀsar in ParĀliaĀment on FriĀday, reĀjectĀing alĀleĀgaĀtions about the PeoĀpleās NaĀtionĀal MoveĀment (PNM) and urgĀing her to proĀduce evĀiĀdence for the claims.
In a stateĀment isĀsued yesĀterĀday, BeckĀles took isĀsue with comĀments made by PerĀsad-BissesĀsar durĀing a stateĀment in the House of RepĀreĀsenĀtaĀtives last FriĀday. The OpĀpoĀsiĀtion Leader mainĀtained that the Prime MinĀisĀter used parĀliaĀmenĀtary privĀiĀlege to levĀel seĀriĀous acĀcuĀsaĀtions against the parĀty.
The stateĀment folĀlowed reĀmarks in which PerĀsad-BissesĀsar alĀleged that the PNM had links to crimĀiĀnal fiĀnanciers and sugĀgestĀed that the parĀtyās headĀquarĀters, BalĀisiĀer House in Port-of-Spain, was conĀstructĀed usĀing proĀceeds tied to the drug trade.
