In conĀfirmĀing the atĀtenĀdance of PerĀsad-BissesĀsar and 11 othĀer Latin AmerĀiĀcan leadĀers, White House press secĀreĀtary KaroĀline LeavĀitt said the sumĀmitās goal is to proĀmote āfreeĀdom, seĀcuĀriĀty, and prosĀperĀiĀty in our reĀgion.ā
She said the counĀtries āhave reĀalĀly formed a hisĀtoric coaliĀtion to work toĀgethĀer to adĀdress crimĀiĀnal narĀco-terĀrorĀist gangs and carĀtels and counter ilĀleĀgal and mass miĀgraĀtion inĀto not onĀly the UnitĀed States but the WestĀern HemiĀsphere, which reĀmains a key and top priĀorĀiĀty of this presĀiĀdent.ā
