TT Defence Force Set For Expansion

Minister of Defence, Wayne Sturge, says Government is rebuilding the Defence Force through equipment upgrades and expansion, as part of its broader strategy to strengthen national security.

He said the Ministry is addressing longstanding deficiencies within the Defence Force that existed when the current administration took office.

“We are rebuilding, we are rebuilding our Defence Force in terms of equipment, in terms of force expansion. We’ve moved from the Coast Guard in Cedros which was using a boat seized during a drug operation, a court exhibit as the boat, that’s where we were when we came into office we met that, we have fixed that.”
