Prime MinĀisĀter KamĀla PerĀsad-BissesĀsar says Trinidad and ToĀbaĀgo must take reĀsponĀsiĀbilĀiĀty for its post-InĀdeĀpenĀdence failĀures inĀstead of conĀtinĀuĀing to blame its coloĀnial past.
In her InĀdeĀpenĀdence Day mesĀsage on SunĀday, PerĀsad-BissesĀsar said the counĀtry had failed to build on what she deĀscribed as a strong founĀdaĀtion left by the British in 1962.
āWe must conĀfront our post-inĀdeĀpenĀdence hisĀtoĀry with honĀesty and acĀknowlĀedge that we should have done much betĀter over the past 64 years,ā she said.
