Trinidad and ToÂbaÂgo NaÂtionÂal NursÂing AsÂsoÂciÂaÂtion (TTNNA) presÂiÂdent Idi StuÂart says more than half of the stuÂdents who sit the ReÂgionÂal ExÂamÂiÂnaÂtion for Nurse RegÂisÂtraÂtion (RENR) fail the exÂams.
“In Trinidad, there’s a 50 per cent failÂure rate and it’s reÂalÂly unÂacÂceptÂable and we need to plug that void,” he said yesÂterÂday.
StuÂart said they were surÂprised by the figÂures preÂsentÂed at a MinÂistry of Health nursÂing semÂiÂnar last month, esÂpeÂcialÂly when they learned that Trinidad and ToÂbaÂgo stuÂdents were perÂformÂing the worst in the reÂgion.
