PM calls for action on women’s rights

Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar has ex­tend­ed greet­ings to women and girls lo­cal­ly and in­ter­na­tion­al­ly as the coun­try marks In­ter­na­tion­al Women’s Day 2026.

In a mes­sage is­sued to­day, Per­sad-Bisses­sar said the ob­ser­vance car­ries the theme, “Rights. Jus­tice. Ac­tion. For ALL Women and Girls,” which cel­e­brates progress while re­mind­ing so­ci­eties that equal­i­ty must be pro­tect­ed through de­ci­sive ac­tion.

“On this In­ter­na­tion­al Women’s Day 2026, I ex­tend my very best wish­es to women and girls across the world, and es­pe­cial­ly in Trinidad and To­ba­go,” the Prime Min­is­ter said.
