CariÂcom Heads of GovÂernÂment have agreed to reÂfer the disÂpute surÂroundÂing the reapÂpointÂment of CariÂcom SecÂreÂtary GenÂerÂal Dr CarÂla BarÂnett to the Caribbean Court of JusÂtice (CCJ).
The deÂciÂsion was anÂnounced toÂday durÂing the 51st RegÂuÂlar MeetÂing of the ConÂferÂence of Heads of GovÂernÂment in St LuÂcia.
Prime MinÂisÂter KamÂla PerÂsad-BissesÂsar had proÂposed reÂferÂring the matÂter to the CCJ afÂter raisÂing conÂcerns about the process used to exÂtend Dr BarÂnett’s tenure.
